IN WHEEL DRIVING SYSTEM
The SIMPLE eScooter 1 uses a state-of-the-art in-wheel engine by BOSCH which offers several advantages. Less parts means less maintenance. The center of gravity is lower, which offers greater and safer driving dynamics. The power is just where it's supposed to be, in the wheels!
ULTRA LOW MAINTENANCE
An electric engine has on average 67% less parts than a fuel engine. This does not only mean that fewer parts can break, but also that troubleshooting is way faster. Furthermore, there is no residual materials left like it would be on fuel engines. Clean energy also means clean engine!
FIELD ORIENTED CONTROL (FOC)
Our engine uses FOC, a variable-frequency drive control method in which the stator currents of a three-phase AC electric motor are identified as two orthogonal components that can be visualized with a vector. One component defines the magnetic flux of the motor, the other the torque. The control system of the drive calculates the corresponding current component references from the flux and torque references given by the drive’s speed control.
